Lapovations Wins Top Prize at Baylor Business Plan Competition

In Baylor University's Global New Venture Competition held February 23-24, Innovate Arkansas client Lapovations took home the top prize, winning $52,500 total. Another Arkansas company and Innovate Arkansas client, Grox, won a $5,000 prize for sustainable businesses and an honorable mention for a total of $9,000 in prize money.

"Both teams represented Arkansas incredibly well. They were true ambassadors for Arkansas through both their professionalism and warmth toward the other competitors and competition officials," said Carol Reeves, Ph.D. Associate Vice-Chancellor for Entrepreneurship, Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Professor and Cupp Applied Professor of Entrepreneurship, Department of Management at the University of Arkansas.

Lapovations creates novel technologies for safe, reliable laparoscopic surgeries. Grox Industries specializes in innovate, graphene-based solutions for energy efficient surface coatings, polymers, and additives.
